Jessner's Peel Instructions
- All procedures performed require a written consent.
You will be asked to sign one upon arrival to our office
for your first Jessner's peel.
- ALL make-up must be removed prior to each Jessner's
peel. We prefer that you remove make-up prior to your
visit. (Eye make-up can cause temporary eye irritation
during the procedure.)
- Moisturizer is very important for your skin. We
request that you bring your moisturizer with you to your
appointment to apply after your Jessner's peel. (Examples:
Cetaphil, Neutrogena)
Jessner's Peel, Step by Step
The peel consists of the following:
-
Upon arrival you will be asked to wash your face with
the provided soap.
-
We will swab your face several times with acetone to
remove debris from your pores and to allow the
solution to go on evenly throughout your skin.
-
The peel solution is then applied until your skin
turns a medium pink in color. You will feel a
tingling or slight burning sensation.
-
If burning persists, medicated ointment will be
applied to provide relief.
- You may rinse your face with plain water after the
procedure is complete. Moisturizer and make-up may then
be applied (if desired).
Home Care Instructions
You may wash your face and apply make-up as
usual. Using a Buff Puff (gentle or regular) may help to
exfoliate superficial skin faster. We highly recommend
that you moisturize your face, keeping it well lubricated
to facilitate the peeling of any skin flakes. We also
recommend that you use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to
prevent further skin damage.
